Family Camp theme is "Living Inside Out"
JUNE 20-26, 2010
Paul described our outer man as decaying, but our inner man being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16). This being true, that God is renewing an inner man, we want to put that inner man in the forefront of our lives. The person God has been working on, changing, molding, and renewing into his image is the decision maker we want to guide our lives as we live in this world. Family Camp 2010 will focus on how we begin to think, act, and live a life of praise from the inside out. We will be unafraid to be vulnerable, transparent, and real with each other because God is the one helping us to be different now. We are all in a state of transition, moving from what we used to be to what God wants us to become. Family Camp participants will be keying into the things that assist the transition and move us into the image of Jesus.
You can expect Family Camp to be significantly different from traditional camp sessions in that there are no "counselors" per se. We have many people who facilitate the Bible classes as teachers. The classes tend to much more interactive than lecture in style, because we approach God's word together to learn what he has said in his word, as well as how we have seen it played out in our lives. Our evening sessions are designed to have a lesson followed by an interactive family activity. Parents, grandparents and siblings all work together, learning to support each other as well as learning from each other.
We hope you will join us for family camp, come prepared to have life turned Inside Out!
What to expect:
As a new session of camp, you can expect to meet new people who have not all traditionally been involved in other sessions of Silver Maple Camp. Consequently the staff is as new as this session of camp is. What I can tell you is that the worship leader for the evening sessions is the most talented and blessed that God has placed in my life. The teachers are all people who have touched my life at some point in the past and have helped to strengthen and encourage my faith. I trust their faith and leadership skills and believe your life will be renewed in faith and hope after having learned from them.
